The midterms, the Senate map, and the races deciding policy — including crypto’s ballot-box moment
30 stories · Updated 10h agoControl of Congress decides which bills reach the floor, which nominees get confirmed, and whether the next two years produce market-structure law or gridlock. This hub follows the races, the polling, the money, and the issues — with particular attention to the districts and states where digital-asset policy has become a campaign question rather than a footnote.

The basics · reviewed September 25, 2026
- Why do midterm elections matter to markets?
- Because the party controlling each chamber controls committee chairs, the legislative calendar, and confirmations. Divided government tends to mean fewer large policy changes, which markets often read as stability; unified government raises the odds of major legislation on taxes, spending, and regulation.
- How has crypto become an election issue?
- Industry-backed political spending has grown into one of the largest single-issue efforts in federal races, focused on candidates’ positions on digital-asset legislation. Candidates in competitive races now take public positions on market-structure and stablecoin law in a way that did not exist a few cycles ago.
- How should readers treat polling?
- As a range, not a prediction. Individual polls carry sampling error and house effects; averages are steadier but still miss late movement and turnout. We report polls with their sponsor, sample, and date, and we treat a shift as real only when several independent surveys move the same way.
