David Beckham's commercial empire delivered a $51 million dividend this year, fueled by a dozen advertising campaigns during the U.S. World Cup. Beckham partnered with Lenovo, McDonald's, Bank of America, Verizon and Lay's crisps.
DRJB Holdings, Beckham's brand company, posted record revenues of $110.5 million, up 20 percent from $92.3 million the prior year. Pre-tax profits climbed to $65.7 million, a 46 percent increase.
Kai Havertz will return to Arsenal for treatment after sustaining a hamstring sprain during Germany's 1-1 draw against the Netherlands. Havertz was removed in the 30th minute. The German FA confirmed a scan identified a sprain.
Havertz missed nearly five months last season with a knee injury but has started all five of Arsenal's Premier League games this season. Arsenal management hopes the current injury is minor. Arsenal's next fixture is Oct. 10 against Leeds at home.
Erling Haaland scored two goals for Norway in a 3-2 victory over Denmark, his first appearance for the national team since the World Cup. He netted seven goals during his first World Cup. His first goal came on a first-touch finish set up by Antonio Nusa. He secured his second from a corner kick.
Martin Odegaard contributed two assists in the match. He set up Oscar Bobb after 14 minutes for Norway's opening goal, then provided a second assist for Haaland's winning goal.
Spain's coach Luis de la Fuente named his first squad since July 19, retaining most World Cup players. Four World Cup squad members were omitted: Marcos Llorente, who retired internationally; Joan García, who is injured; Borja Iglesias, who is not fully fit; and Gavi, who is suspended for Spain's match against England at Wembley on Sept. 26.
