In the western Pacific, Typhoon In-fa was upgraded to super typhoon status Wednesday with sustained wind speeds of 150 mph and gusts recorded over 185 mph. Across the Pacific, Tropical Storm Vance weakened to a tropical depression after impacting western Mexico. The storm brought heavy rain and dangerous coastal conditions to regions including Sinaloa, Durango, and Nayarit, which recorded 50-100mm of rain, with some areas exceeding 150mm. High rainfall totals are expected to cause disruption from flooding and landslides, while coastal areas face dangerous surf and rip current conditions.
