PancakeSwap is advancing a governance proposal called "The Flip" to reshape fee distribution and reduce CAKE token emissions. The proposal raises the swap fee share to liquidity providers in V3 and Infinity pools to 88 percent, up from the current 66-68 percent range, while cutting daily CAKE emissions from 22,500 to 7,000 tokens—a 69 percent reduction.

The timing aligns with a surge in TVL. PancakeSwap's total value locked climbed 19 percent over the past week, adding roughly $380 million to reach $2.4 billion as of Oct. 21. V3 liquidity pools drove most of the growth, more than doubling from $336 million to $739 million between Oct. 14 and Oct. 21.

Voting on "The Flip" opened Oct. 21 and closes Oct. 24. If approved, implementation is expected to begin in November.

On BNB Chain, PancakeSwap commanded $4.67 billion in DEX trading volume over the past week—71 percent of the network's total. The chain hosted $2.33 billion of PancakeSwap's $2.40 billion TVL.

BNB Chain's broader DeFi ecosystem expanded: overall TVL rose 8.3 percent to $5.84 billion over seven days, while DEX volume surged 40.2 percent to $6.54 billion. Stablecoin market cap dipped 0.6 percent to $13.1 billion.

PancakeSwap has also become a venue for tokenized equities trading. Binance's bStocks product, live on the DEX since June, crossed $1 billion in assets under management on Oct. 15—four months after launch, with $40 billion in cumulative volume. As of early October, 11.2 percent of bStocks' value was deployed in DeFi protocols.
