Ethereum staking surged to an all-time high of 43.8 million ETH in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to Bitwise's Q4 2026 Staking Report. The figure represents 35.9 percent of Ethereum's total circulating supply and marks six straight quarters of validator accumulation.
But the yield math is tightening. Ethereum's staking yield dropped from 2.81 percent to 2.63 percent during the quarter as more ETH floods into the staking pool, diluting per-validator rewards across a larger base. This is the core tradeoff of network participation at scale—the more ETH locked, the thinner the reward slice per validator.
Solana maintained a 69 percent staking ratio with yield compression of its own, sliding from 6.38 percent to 5.99 percent. NEAR Protocol posted a 46 percent staking ratio at 4.87 percent yield, still competitive for Layer 1 validators seeking returns.
Tokenized asset trading on-chain is accelerating. Solana saw tokenized stock trading volume jump 45 percent to $6.93 billion. Robinhood Chain posted a 22-fold surge in daily volume during Q4, signaling real demand for on-chain equity representations.
