Solana has now operated for two consecutive years without a reported mainnet outage, a milestone for network resilience that Fidelity's Center for Applied Technology confirmed in a recent report.

Fidelity's evaluation across resilience, economic security, and performance indicators concluded the network has made substantial progress. Economic security is supported by robust staking participation, with the network's incentive structure directly rewarding validator performance and operational integrity.

The blockchain's performance strengths—low latency, expanded capacity, and inexpensive transaction costs—enable it to handle high throughput efficiently.

But Fidelity flagged three concentration risks that could threaten the network's long-term resilience. Stake concentration among a limited number of validator identities and operators poses a decentralization risk. Additional concerns center on concentrations within specific network hosting providers and client software implementations. If left unaddressed, these could jeopardize the network's uptime record.

Solana's push to improve performance continues. On Aug. 21, the Solana Foundation reduced slot time to 350 milliseconds, the network's first such reduction since inception, according to Jacob Creech, the Solana Foundation's vice president of technology. The foundation previously announced plans to target 200 milliseconds through three additional 50-millisecond reductions, aimed at accelerating transaction confirmations.

Solana's native token trades at $103.95, up 1.64 percent on the day.
