Bitcoin's path to $100,000 is losing conviction among prediction market participants who are putting real money behind their thesis.

Polymarket traders price a mere 27 percent probability of Bitcoin reaching six figures before 2027. That skepticism tightens dramatically in the near term: only 2 percent odds Bitcoin touches $100,000 by November, with the cryptocurrency trading near $83,416 on Oct. 13.

Polymarket's 2026 Bitcoin price market has logged $75.1 million in volume. The probability ladder tells the story: 64 percent for $90,000 by year-end, 43 percent for $95,000, then a cliff to 27 percent for $100,000. Reaching $110,000 prices at 12 percent. $120,000 sits at 7 percent.

Downside bets are capturing more action. Traders assign 37 percent odds to Bitcoin touching $70,000 before 2027, with 23 percent implied probability for $65,000 and 15 percent for $60,000.

October's microstructure is worse. Polymarket's October contract ($6.3 million volume) shows 80 percent odds Bitcoin hits $85,000 before November. But $87,500 drops to 50 percent, $90,000 falls to 32 percent, and $95,000 sits at just 10 percent. The math is brutal: traders price a 57 percent chance of Bitcoin touching $80,000 versus a 32 percent shot at $90,000.

Kalshi's October forecast sits at $87,000—down $2,970 from its earlier reading. That platform's October contract has seen $789,873 in volume. Probability of exceeding $87,500 in October: 49 percent. $90,000: 35 percent. $92,500: 22 percent. Kalshi's year-end market has generated over $41.3 million in volume.

The signal is consolidation or drawdown. Traders are defending current levels, not chasing.
