OKX CEO and founder Star Xu said global finance will undergo two fundamental changes in the next five to 10 years, speaking Oct. 6 at the OKX NOW Global Products and Ecosystem Conference during TOKEN2049 in Singapore.
The first shift centers on user experience. Xu wants financial interactions as instant and seamless as sending a message or booking a ride—moving financial services to match digital lifestyles built on constant connectivity.
OKX is building a global fintech platform integrating capital, payments, trading and asset management, starting with cryptocurrency trading for the next generation of users.
The second change is the convergence of internet, crypto and artificial intelligence. Xu said this convergence enables financial services to understand individual needs and deliver more responsive solutions.
Beyond technology, Xu highlighted the need for industry collaboration to build global financial services, including establishing trust, clear regulation, robust governance and local accountability.
Integrating crypto and traditional finance is central to this vision. Xu said the blend combines technological capabilities, liquidity, institutional experience and service networks from both sectors.
OKX showcased deployed products at the conference designed to facilitate these shifts: TradFi perpetual contracts, Pre-IPO perpetual contracts and unified tokenized stock trading, which enable round-the-clock trading for traditional and digital assets.
For Web3, OKX presented its Wallet, DEX trading terminal and DeFi products enabling on-chain asset discovery, trading and management. The platform's ExchangeOS will open shared trading infrastructure and liquidity to developers via XIP, with public betas coming for spot and perpetual markets.
OKX also introduced AI-driven products including Agent Trade Kit, OnchainOS and OKX AI, which connect market analysis, trade execution and agent services. An upcoming AI Bot will help users create personalized trading strategies through natural language inputs.
OKX Money facilitates daily transfers, spending and savings, extending the utility of digital assets.
Xu said blockchain technology will change the global financial system within the next decade, with users gaining greater control over on-chain assets and moving away from reliance on institutions safeguarding funds.
