South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has filed for divorce from her husband, Bryon Noem, in Hamlin County, South Dakota. The filing occurred Monday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the dissolution of their 34-year marriage.
The divorce filing follows months after claims surfaced regarding Bryon Noem's participation in an online "bimbofication" fetish scene. A March report claimed Bryon Noem took selfies while wearing oversized fake breasts and engaged in chats with adult performers.
The report detailed Bryon Noem's reported focus on large fake breasts, stating he told individuals he desired "huge, huge ridiculous boobs."
Noem's team released a statement following the initial reports. The statement said, "Ms. Noem is devastated. The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time."
The move toward divorce did not come without prior indication. Noem's mother, Corinne Arnold, told the Daily Mail in July that the couple was headed for a split.
Noem also left the door open in her divorce filing to request financial support from Bryon Noem.
Kristi and Bryon Noem married in 1992. They have three children and four grandchildren.
