Robinhood-issued stock tokens generated $11.4 billion in spot DEX volume on Uniswap between July 1 and Sept. 23.
As of Sept. 23, $76.0 million was deposited as liquidity on Uniswap for these tokenized assets. The movement of capital into liquidity pools signals growing market depth and utility for the synthetic equities.
Robinhood initially launched its tokenized U.S. equities product in the EU and EEA on June 30, 2025. The offering provided access to more than 200 U.S. stocks and ETFs for retail users across 30 European countries.
The product, rebranded as Classic Stock Tokens, has since expanded its catalog to more than 2,000 tokens. Users can access these with a minimum entry of €1 directly through the existing Robinhood Crypto app.
Settlement for these tokens initially runs on Arbitrum, an Offchain Labs optimistic rollup. Robinhood plans to migrate the stock tokens to Robinhood Chain, a dedicated Layer 2 built on the Arbitrum Orbit stack.
Robinhood Chain is designed for tokenized real-world assets, offering 24/7 trading and eventual self-custody. This infrastructure aims to facilitate broader usage, including deployment into lending pools and utilization as trading collateral across the DeFi ecosystem.
Each token represents a wrapper claim on a share held in custody by a U.S. broker-dealer, not the share itself. The tokens are issued under MiFID II by a Robinhood Europe entity.
Robinhood and Superstate co-authored ERC-8056, a draft Ethereum Improvement Proposal standard for on-chain corporate actions and Scaled UI Amounts on EVM. This standard aims to formalize how corporate events are handled for tokenized assets.
Popular U.S.-listed equities and ETFs, including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon, Meta, SPY and QQQ, were part of the initial tokenized catalog. Robinhood has indicated intentions to add more names through 2025 and 2026.
The tokenized-stocks asset class reached approximately $1 billion in the second half of 2025. This represented 128 percent growth during that six-month period, according to RWA.xyz data from Jan. 2026.
Beyond public equities, Robinhood also offers separate tokens for OpenAI and SpaceX. These are not direct stock tokens but wrapped exposures to special-purpose vehicles that hold private-company shares, a structure that generated regulatory discussion upon launch.
