WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Rashida Tlaib on Sunday called on the U.S. government to end its involvement in Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip, following reports of an attack on a kindergarten in the Palestinian enclave.
Tlaib said children are "being killed with American made bombs, and those that live are traumatized forever." On X, she wrote: "The genocide is still happening. There was never a ceasefire." She demanded that the administration "must end its complicity in these atrocious acts of ethnic cleansing."
Video footage showed Israeli forces raiding a kindergarten with approximately 200 children trapped inside during active gunfire.
Gaza's Health Ministry reported that Israeli military operations have resulted in more than 73,000 Palestinian deaths and over 174,000 injuries.
A ceasefire agreement took effect Oct. 10, 2025. The Health Ministry documented violations of the agreement that have killed 1,369 Palestinians and injured 4,627 since the truce began, according to figures reported as of Saturday.
