Ripple activated RLUSD and XRP on the GTreasury platform on April 1, 2026, integrating digital assets into cash management for over 1,000 enterprises. The move targets the $13 trillion in annual payments volume GTreasury processed last year—a market previously locked to fiat-only settlement.

Ripple acquired GTreasury in October 2025 for $1 billion. The platform now runs two core upgrades: native Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury, allowing CFOs to manage RLUSD and XRP alongside fiat currencies from a single dashboard with real-time valuations.

The infrastructure advantage is concrete. GTreasury connects to over 13,000 banks and serves customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Rather than forcing treasurers to adopt new systems, the digital asset upgrade sits within a platform already processing trillions in fiat.

"Digital assets have reached the CFO's desk," said

"Digital assets have reached the CFO's desk," said Renaat Ver Eecke, Ripple's SVP of Treasury. The stablecoin integration targets liquidity management, where faster settlement and reduced costs matter most for enterprises managing cross-border cash flows.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse framed the $13 trillion payments flow as stablecoin settlement's next frontier.

RLUSD now backs approximately $2.42 billion in market capitalization as of September 10, 2026, distributed across Ethereum and the XRP Ledger. The stablecoin holds approvals from the New York Department of Financial Services and Dubai Financial Services Authority. BNY Mellon custodies reserves, with monthly attestations and dual oversight strengthening compliance.

Ripple also embedded AI-powered tools into GTreasury for forecasting, liquidity optimization, risk management, and reporting. Jack McDonald, Ripple's SVP of stablecoins, said payments and capital markets are driving RLUSD adoption. He added that Ripple plans to bring RLUSD to Europe under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

A Ripple survey found 72 percent of finance leaders view integrating digital asset tools as essential for competitive advantage.
