Hyperliquid Strategies accumulated and staked 365,000 HYPE tokens valued at $29.65 million within a single 24-hour period. The recent tranche trades roughly 5 percent below cost basis, with HYPE at $79.99 as of today.
Over the past 14 days, an address attributed to Hyperliquid Strategies Inc. (Nasdaq: PURR) acquired and staked 3.029 million HYPE. This accumulation totals approximately $252 million at an average price near $83.40. The token's current price puts the two-week position underwater by about $12 million.
Hyperliquid Strategies' total HYPE holdings amount to 31.8 million tokens, according to its own disclosure. When first disclosed, this stack was valued at approximately $2.513 billion. The HYPE token recorded a record high of $89.67 on fresh exchange-traded fund buying and institutional demand.
The company funds its aggressive buying through a committed equity purchase facility with Chardan Capital Markets. Earlier this month, Hyperliquid Strategies filed a Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission, expanding this facility from $1.0 billion to $2.5 billion.
As of June 30, the company reported more than $2.0 billion in assets, no debt, and roughly $150 million in cash and cash-like instruments.
Hyperliquid Strategies actively manages its treasury. In May, the firm launched a validator named Hyperliquid Strategies x Unit in partnership with Unit Labs, with the bulk of the initial stake delegated from treasury HYPE tokens custodied at Anchorage Digital Bank.
Prominent institutional investors have also entered positions. Stanley Druckenmiller built a position of 2.9 million PURR shares valued at around $23.1 million, part of an $88 million bet across Bitdeer and Hyperliquid Strategies.
HYPE has spent the year trading as a high-beta proxy for the broader market, with price direction often following Bitcoin's movements. Bitcoin currently trades at $77,925, up 1.4 percent over the last 24 hours. HYPE dropped 5.78 percent to $79.99 today.
