Bybit is launching "Perp Options," a new derivatives product linked to stock perpetual contracts, beginning Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. UTC with SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA) as initial underlyings.

The product enables 24/7 options trading—a structural advantage over traditional equity markets, which operate on limited hours. Unlike conventional stock options that represent 100-share contracts, Bybit's offering supports fractional lot sizes, lowering minimum entry costs and widening accessibility.

All transactions settle in USDT within Bybit's Unified Trading Account, which enables portfolio margin for eligible users. The platform will support standard options strategies including spreads, straddles, and covered calls.

Bybit plans to add Tesla (TSLA), the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ), the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL), and Micron (MU) in future phases.

This move reflects a broader competitive shift: Coinbase launched stock perpetual futures for international traders earlier this year, while Kraken and Robinhood have expanded into 24/7 equity trading. In July, Ondo integrated tokenized stocks as collateral on its perpetuals platform, citing a goal to match "liquidity and capital efficiency on par with traditional derivatives exchanges."

These initiatives signal a structural convergence between crypto and traditional equity derivatives, with continuous markets and synthetic exposure now standard across platforms serving retail and institutional traders.
