The Carolina Panthers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in preseason Week 2 after joint practices between the teams in Jacksonville, Florida.
Head coach Dave Canales praised the team's discipline. Linebacker Pat Jones II recorded a third-down sack, marking an emotional return after missing time due to illness. Wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. worked in motion, on punt returns and made a sideline tackle. Quarterback Bryce Young had a strong night, crediting his offensive line and running backs for protection.
The Panthers officially signed tight end Darren Waller on Monday morning, bolstering their offensive depth for the remainder of the preseason.
Carolina opened preseason Week 1 on Aug. 15 against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
