An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent drew his gun on Carolina Molina in a Falls Church, Virginia, parking lot Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, after she shouted at federal officers and they claimed she tried to run them over with her car.
Molina, a U.S. citizen, had just witnessed ICE agents arrest two men in the parking lot. She told News4 she was in the area to drop off business cards with immigration lawyers offering counseling services.
Driving past the agents, Molina shouted expletives from her car window, according to dashcam video she later shared. The video shows her turning right as an agent stopped and returned to his vehicle.
Moments later, Molina turned her car around. Two ICE SUVs approached, boxing her vehicle in from the front and rear. Agents exited their vehicles and approached her car.
"Are you following us?" a masked ICE agent asked Molina, repeating the question. Molina then began recording the interaction on her cellphone, capturing the agent holding a gun.
In her cellphone video, the agent is heard saying, "Yes, you're recording us. You almost ran us over. You almost ran us over. Stop playing!" Molina responded, "You are so full of [expletive]."
The agent, gun drawn, argued with Molina through her driver's side window. "I will arrest you. Keep it up!" he said, again accusing her of trying to run them over.
Molina disputed the claim. "Run you over when? I got recording. I got dashcam," she said, adding that she was not following the agents and had not endangered anyone.
She told News4 she felt scared and called the confrontation "uncalled for." Molina said she believes her initial comments were protected by the First Amendment and did not warrant a drawn weapon.
Video shows the agent had his gun in hand immediately upon stepping out of his vehicle. Molina said that after she began recording, the agent shifted his account to claim she had nearly run them over.
The entire interaction, from the agent exiting his vehicle to returning to it, lasted approximately 50 seconds. Afterward, all parties left the parking lot.
News4 reached out to ICE for comment. The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, initially requested Molina's video. A DHS spokesperson issued a statement Tuesday evening, Aug. 11, after News4 directed the agency to the publicly posted footage.
