Musician John Oates, co-founder of Hall & Oates, finalized the sale of his Colorado mountain property for $6.9 million, closing a multi-year effort to exit the 4.3-acre Woody Creek spread he and his wife, Aimee, owned for 35 years.
Oates originally acquired the raw land for $660,000, developing it over decades into a private ranch with extensive amenities. The couple first listed the estate in 2017 at $6 million before withdrawing it, then relisted on June 8 at $7.5 million and secured a buyer within two months.
The decision to sell came down to acreage maintenance. Oates plans to spend more time at his primary residence in Nashville.
The centerpiece of the compound is a five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom log home with a great room and stone fireplace. The Little Woody Creek Ranch also includes a horse stable, a private office and a separate building for farm equipment and all-terrain vehicles. Supporting infrastructure includes automated irrigation, agricultural and domestic wells, and an underground fire-suppression tank.
