Donald Harrison, Google's president of global partnerships and corporate development, has resigned from SpaceX's board of directors, the company announced in a regulatory filing Friday.
SpaceX said Harrison's departure was not due to any disagreement regarding the company's operations, policies or practices.
The move comes five months after SpaceX's record initial public offering. Alphabet, Google's parent company, remains SpaceX's largest institutional investor with a stake valued at $74 billion as of Friday's market close. SpaceX's current market capitalization is approximately $1.8 trillion.
Alphabet's financial exposure to SpaceX extends beyond equity. Google has committed to paying SpaceX's AI division up to $920 million each month for compute capacity from data centers near Memphis, Tennessee. The two companies have also collaborated on Project Suncatcher, which involved launching Google AI chips into orbit.
Google said in a statement, "While Don is stepping down from the board, we remain deeply supportive of SpaceX's mission and are excited to continue our long-standing partnership."
