The National Football League and TMRW Sports have officially announced a new professional flag football league, branded as Premier Flag, slated to launch in the summer of 2027. This development marks a significant step in professionalizing the sport, with multiple sports media outlets reporting on the details.
Front Office Sports confirmed the league's intentions, stating that it "will bring together the world’s best players to play flag football as a full-time career." This initiative aims to establish flag football as a full-time profession for elite athletes.
Further details emerged from Sports Business Journal, which added that the league "will launch in summer 2027 with men’s and women’s divisions, playing its inaugural season at one venue in a host city yet to be announced." This indicates a structured approach to its initial operations, featuring both male and female athletes.
