Prediction market operator Underdog is integrating cryptocurrency and stablecoin deposits directly into its platform, partnering with crypto infrastructure provider Zerohash to enable near-instant, 24/7 funding for eligible users.
The critical mechanic here: Underdog is abstracting away the friction that keeps retail users out of crypto-funded trading. Users won't manage wallet addresses or select blockchain networks themselves—the platform handles that backend complexity. Deposits flow straight into accounts ready for live trading.
Underdog has not disclosed which specific cryptocurrencies or stablecoins will be supported at launch, but the integration will sit alongside existing deposit rails: debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and bank transfers. The move signals a clear bet that crypto-native liquidity will drive new volume.
The timing is sharp. DeFiRate data shows Underdog recorded $1.4 billion in trading volume over the 30 days ending Oct. 21—a 133 percent jump from the prior period. That growth is real, but context matters: Kalshi posted $81.5 billion in volume over the same window, while Polymarket's U.S. and international platforms combined for $17.2 billion. Underdog is climbing, but it remains a distant third in the prediction market hierarchy.
Underdog, founded in 2020, operates 11 million registered accounts. The company is being acquired by IG Group, the financial services firm that agreed to the deal in July for up to $1.3 billion. The transaction is projected to close in late 2026 or early 2027.
