Tokenized equities have ballooned to $3.3 billion in value as investors exploit round-the-clock access beyond Wall Street's 9:30 am to 4 pm Eastern trading window.
Blockworks data shows 70 percent of tokenized stock volume on BNB Chain executes off-hours. Solana records 63 percent off-hours, Base nearly 60 percent. This is not passive—investors are actively timing trades to bypass traditional market closures.
Jupiter, the Solana-based trading platform, reported a 50 percent month-over-month increase in tokenized asset volume. The 15 percent climb in total tokenized stock value over 30 days, per RWA.xyz, confirms sustained demand for on-chain equity exposure.
Ondo Global Markets and xStocks dominate issuance across blockchains. Historically, these products were off-limits to U.S. investors.
That changed last month when the Securities and Exchange Commission introduced an "innovation exemption" allowing qualifying venues to trade tokenized U.S.-listed stocks directly on public blockchains. SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda set the terms: venues must publish transaction data in dollars—trade prices, sizes, timestamps and daily volumes—plus disclose liquidity pool addresses and balances.
The exemption opens domestic access for the first time. Qualifying venues can now offer tokenized U.S. equities provided they preserve shareholder rights and meet established trading and disclosure standards. The regulatory green light removes a critical friction point for institutional adoption.
