Shawn Owen of SALT Lending highlighted increasing institutional interest in Bitcoin from sovereign wealth funds and traditional banking institutions, driven by macroeconomic headwinds and Bitcoin's role as a non-sovereign store of value.

Bitcoin traded at $83,214, down 2.7 percent over 24 hours. The Fear & Greed Index sat at 71, signaling sustained demand despite price consolidation.

Institutional adoption accelerated after the January 2024 approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs, which granted traditional investors direct regulated access to the asset. Sovereign wealth funds managing trillions in global assets now view Bitcoin allocation as a portfolio hedge, while banks actively build custody solutions and derivative products to meet client demand.

The infrastructure supporting institutional entry has matured significantly. Regulated trading venues and institutional-grade custody providers have lowered operational friction for large funds and banks to execute meaningful positions.

Ethereum declined 4.7 percent over 24 hours to $2,569 as the broader digital asset market experienced price discovery during fresh capital inflows.
