Ripple USD (RLUSD) supply on the XRP Ledger increased 14.6 percent in the last seven days, reaching nearly $1.33 billion and capturing roughly 93 percent of the ledger's total stablecoin market capitalization.

The surge aligns with major South Korean banks moving to integrate the XRP Ledger by 2027. Kakao Bank, which serves 27 million users, has approved plans to build blockchain infrastructure with XRPL integration for custody and asset tokenization. Woori Bank and K Bank have signaled interest in pilot programs using the ledger.

Ripple is backing the expansion with institutional infrastructure. The Clearpool community approved a token migration to CLEAR for launch on the XRPL in the fourth quarter of 2026, creating an institutional lending market. Ripple will fund RLUSD-denominated credit pools for fintech and payment businesses, with Cicada Partners underwriting and Hex Trust handling custody.

Ripple Mint, the company's institutional platform, lets banks and companies manage RLUSD across payments, trading and treasury operations via web console or direct API integration.

RLUSD hit a record market capitalization exceeding $1.8 billion on June 1, 2026. XRP led South Korean trading volume on Oct. 5 during the XRP Seoul 2026 conference as banks accelerated XRPL integration planning.

The stablecoin's fundamental momentum contrasts with near-term technical weakness—current charts flash sell signals, suggesting potential depeg risk from the $1.00 peg.
