Pump.fun reported over $2 billion in decentralized exchange volume during the first quarter of 2026, underscoring its dominance in Solana's memecoin ecosystem.

The launchpad enables users to create and trade tokens instantly, with a graduation mechanism to broader DEXes like Raydium. Founders Noah Tweedale, Alon Cohen and Dylan Kerler launched pump.fun on Jan. 19, 2024, citing frustrations with memecoin trading risks and rug pulls.

By January 2025, over 6 million meme coins had launched on the platform. Most are classified as meme coins due to their lack of functionality beyond trading, and most fail to achieve sufficient traction for listing on established platforms.

Since launch, pump.fun has generated nearly $800 million in total revenue, derived largely from a one percent cut on trades. In the first half of 2024 alone, the platform generated an estimated $60 million in transaction fees and had facilitated creation of over one million tokens by July 2024.

Pump.fun's July 2025 token sale raised $600 million in 12 minutes through public sale, with an additional $720 million from private sales, giving the company approximately $1.3 billion in cash reserves. In November 2025, the platform cashed out $465.5 million into USDC as its native token, PUMP, declined more than 25 percent.

The platform faces legal headwinds. A class-action lawsuit is underway with thousands of internal chat records under judicial review. Its X account was compromised in February 2025, an incident involving promotion of a fraudulent token.
