KeyBanc upgraded Airbnb (NASDAQ: ABNB) to Overweight on Oct. 1, 2026, with a $191 price target implying 19 percent upside from the Oct. 1 close of $160.47.

Analyst Sergio Segura's thesis rests on three pillars: durable, product-led core growth; hotels as a credible second growth engine; and AI-powered innovation. The company trades at 14.1 times KeyBanc's 2028 EV/EBITDA estimate—a 15 percent discount to its three-year median of 16.7 times—despite showing stronger growth and operating momentum than traditional lodging competitors. That valuation gap is the setup.

Segura sees hotels moving from novelty to material growth driver. The segment lets Airbnb capture higher-margin bookings and compete directly with OTAs and branded chains while leveraging its brand and direct-traffic moat. On AI, Airbnb has differentiated inventory, global scale, and a high-traffic homepage—a platform for personalization and search optimization that a pure software play cannot match.
