David Gokhshtein, founder of Gokhshtein Media and host of The Breakdown, posted on X on Thursday, October 1, 2026, cautioning investors against mistaking current sentiment for a full-fledged market upturn. Gokhshtein stated, “The bull market hasn’t started yet. Too many people are mistaking bullish sentiment for a bull market and getting wrecked chasing every rotation - holding an asset for 23 seconds before jumping into the next. Relax. Use this time to research what you actually want to own.” He added his belief that “we could be heading into the biggest bull cycle we’ve ever seen.”
This perspective arrives as Bitcoin (BTC) trades at $84,320, showing a 1.4% gain over 24 hours. Recent coverage noted Bitcoin holding above $83K after the European Central Bank's early exit signals, and institutional flows intensifying with a $100M Bitcoin whale move to Binance. Pete Rizzo also suggested Bitcoin's bottom was in after a 43% gain in Q3, while a BIS study revealed significant variance in Bitcoin's on-chain transfer metrics.
Gokhshtein's view implies that while digital asset prices show strength, sustained upward momentum has not yet taken hold. He suggests investors should use this period for due diligence, advising them to build watchlists, review fundamentals and tokenomics, and establish a capital-preservation plan. This approach aims to prevent capital depletion by chasing short-term moves, positioning investors to participate fully when a major bull cycle, which he predicts to be rare, eventually begins.
