Open Standard launched Open USD (OUSD) on Sept. 30 as the default stablecoin across Stripe's core financial services: Treasury, Issuing, and Global Payouts.

Businesses can receive, hold, send, and spend OUSD through Stripe Treasury, build and operate global card programs via Issuing, and settle international payments through Global Payouts. Stripe's Crypto Onramp enables fiat-to-OUSD conversions for customers, while Payments accepts OUSD directly.

OUSD offers predictable transaction fees that do not vary by volume, with zero minting or burning fees. Open Standard provides a partner reward mechanism tied to OUSD activity and balances held on Stripe, available at no cost.

Bridge orchestration APIs enable conversion between OUSD, fiat currencies, and other stablecoins. Privy support allows OUSD to be used across any digital wallet experience.

Ramp, a finance platform, plans to use Stripe to power stablecoin accounts, allowing users to hold OUSD balances, earn rewards, and execute 24/7 global payments.

OUSD is live on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo. Stripe will not mandate conversion of existing stablecoin balances, allowing businesses to maintain infrastructure flexibility.

OUSD is backed by Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa, along with more than 200 network partners.
