A wallet identified as bc1qsz, linked to institutional digital asset firm BIT, deposited 1,000 Bitcoin (BTC) into the Binance exchange on Sept. 19, 2026. This transaction was valued at $83.94 million, according to on-chain data.
This marks the second large deposit from the same wallet within a four-day period. Four days prior, on Sept. 15, the wallet transferred 1,400 BTC to Binance, valued at $107.8 million. The combined flows represent 2,400 BTC moved to the exchange in less than a week, totaling approximately $191.74 million.
Matrixport, which rebranded to BIT, was established in 2019 by a co-founder of Bitmain. As an institutional financial services provider for digital assets, its on-chain movements often serve various operational purposes beyond direct selling pressure.
Such deposits can facilitate collateral adjustments for derivatives, inventory allocation for market making activities, or over-the-counter transactions for clients redeeming assets. This institutional pattern differs from individual investors transferring assets to exchanges primarily for immediate liquidation.
On-chain data indicates this wallet has a history of regular Bitcoin deposits to Binance over the past nine months. Previous movements include a 3,000 BTC transfer during this period, demonstrating consistent activity from the entity.
During the same timeframe as the recent BTC deposits, the bc1qsz wallet also executed withdrawals of Ethereum (ETH) from Binance. This concurrent activity suggests a strategic rebalancing of assets between Bitcoin and Ethereum rather than a unilateral liquidation of a single asset.
Despite the continuous inflow of large institutional Bitcoin sums to exchanges, the broader market has absorbed the potential selling pressure without price declines. Bitcoin currently trades at $84,288.47, reflecting a 1.48 percent increase over the last 24 hours.
Continuous net inflows into spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds, including Fidelity's FBTC and BlackRock's IBIT, contributed to the market's resilience during the week of these institutional transfers. These ETF inflows provided a consistent demand counterbalance.
This market behavior contrasts with prior periods, such as December 2025, when a Matrixport-linked wallet deposited 4,000 BTC to Binance as Bitcoin approached $90,000. That event coincided with different market dynamics.
On-chain analytics show that over 400,000 BTC were accumulated in the $60,000 to $70,000 price range. This accumulation indicates a persistent underlying buying demand that supports prices even as large entities move coins onto exchanges.
