Television host Johnny Joey Jones publicly attacked livestreamer Hasan Piker for mocking the deaths of two U.S. Navy SEALs, saying on "Big Weekend Show" that Piker "would get a bonafide a-- whipping" for his comments.
Piker's remarks, resurfaced from his livestream, disparaged Chief Special Warfare Operator Christopher J. Chambers and Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Nathan Gage Ingram. Piker laughed while discussing their deaths, saying, "I think SEALs have to swim sometimes. Yeah like those two SEALs that tripped and fell off the f---ing ladder and died and drowned in the Red Sea."
He continued, "The only time Navy SEALs have to swim is when they're in a f---ing Osprey because you know that s--- is going down. Well they die anyway, but still."
Chambers and Ingram were lost at sea in January 2024 during a nighttime raid near Somalia. The mission involved seizing a vessel illegally transporting lethal aid from Iran intended to resupply Houthi forces in Yemen, according to the Navy. Both SEALs went missing in the Red Sea during the operation.
Jones responded directly to Piker's remarks, saying an "a-- whipping" is "what he deserves." The exchange reflects broader tensions over how public figures discuss military personnel and their service.
