Rapper Nicki Minaj appeared on Fox News' "My View with Lara Trump" in a pre-recorded interview that aired Saturday, Sept. 26, praising President Donald Trump as an authentic figure.
Minaj told Lara Trump that the President brings a "candid, unedited vibe to the White House that we've never before seen, and it's refreshing." She said that for years, people felt they could not trust politicians who seemed scripted.
"When you see someone that goes off script, it's like you come alive again—you feel alive," Minaj said during the interview. She added that Trump is "just a very authentic person" and has "always been himself."
Minaj also claimed that "everyone loves him," but they "have to act like they don't" due to political considerations. She described Trump as having flair, being funny and charismatic. She also said he was "viral before the term viral" during his presidency.
Minaj has publicly backed Trump since last year, attending aligned events and speaking openly about her support. She appeared on Laura Ingraham's Fox News show, "The Ingraham Angle," on Thursday, Sept. 18, prior to her Lara Trump interview.
In January 2026, Trump greeted Minaj at an event in Washington, D.C. for the launch of Trump Accounts. Trump called Minaj "a fantastic person" and a "woman that's respected by everybody," adding that "she's got real talent."
Minaj concluded by stating that Trump "has helped me in his own way" and that she has made it her "mission to be someone that supports him."
The interview drew criticism online, with users on X, formerly Twitter, slamming Minaj for her continued support. Some comments called her "trash," while others suggested she "can be bought" or "must need a pardon for a family member."
