WisdomTree and MoonPay announced a collaboration Sept. 17 to expand access to tokenized U.S. government debt. The partnership will make WisdomTree's tokenized Treasury money market fund, WTGXX, available directly within MoonPay's platform.
The integration allows U.S. users to purchase WTGXX shares through MoonPay without leaving the platform, reducing friction for retail and institutional entry into tokenized real-world assets. MoonPay will also deploy WTGXX as a reserve asset for its stablecoin operations, routing stablecoin issuance liquidity into yield-bearing U.S. Treasuries.
The move signals a shift in how stablecoin reserves are composed on-chain. Rather than relying solely on cash or short-term deposits, MoonPay's use of tokenized Treasuries as backing creates a direct capital flow from digital asset markets into U.S. public debt instruments.
