Ric Edelman, founder of a $337 billion asset manager, predicts Bitcoin will reach $500,000 by 2030—a move anchored to $7.5 trillion in institutional capital flowing into the digital asset.
The math is straightforward: a 1 percent allocation shift from global portfolios into Bitcoin. Edelman calls the projection conservative. "My prediction is actually kind of low compared to many others," he said, signaling broader analyst consensus for even higher targets.
The forecast hinges on passage of the CLARITY Act, which defines which digital assets are securities (SEC jurisdiction) versus commodities (CFTC jurisdiction). For institutions sizing nine-figure allocations, that jurisdictional clarity is non-negotiable.
Spot Bitcoin ETF approval in January 2024 and Ethereum spot ETFs in May 2024 already opened the institutional floodgates. The CLARITY Act would remove regulatory ambiguity that still constrains larger capital commitments.
