The Milwaukee Brewers clinched a National League playoff berth Friday night with a 20-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, becoming the first NL team to secure a postseason spot in 2026.
Milwaukee holds baseball's best record at 92-56 and sits 10 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central. The Brewers need three more wins to clinch their fourth consecutive division title.
The postseason appearance marks the Brewers' fourth in as many years and eighth in the last nine years. Yet despite consistent success, Milwaukee has never won a World Series title. The franchise's only pennant came in 1982, when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.
Milwaukee ranks among the league's top three in runs scored per game and fewest runs allowed per game. The team ranks near the top in stolen bases, sacrifice bunts, infield singles and productive outs. The Brewers also rank among the top 12 teams in home runs since Aug. 18, with Jackson Chourio finding his power stroke during this stretch.
