Pixxel, a hyperspectral Earth observation startup, secured $100 million in Series C funding co-led by Singapore state investor Temasek and British space venture capital firm Seraphim.
The round brings the LA- and Bengaluru-based company's total funding to $195 million, marking the largest fundraise to date for an Indian space technology firm. New investors 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment also participated, alongside existing backers Radical Ventures and growX.
Pixxel plans to deploy the capital toward expanding satellite production capacity at its operational centers in India and the United States. The company operates a constellation of satellites that capture hyperspectral imagery—data collected across hundreds of spectral bands—enabling detailed analysis of Earth's surface composition and changes.
Hyperspectral imaging serves agriculture, environmental monitoring, and resource management sectors. The technology's complexity and the specialized downstream data processing required create a defensible market position against broader Earth observation competitors.
