Goldman Sachs reshuffled its top equity picks for June, adding Tyson Foods, Block, TPG and Casella Waste Systems while dropping Ares Management, Wynn Resorts and Kontoor Brands. The revised basket now holds 21 stocks the firm considers its most differentiated fundamental buy ideas across U.S. coverage.
TPG carries the largest upside call. Goldman's $61 price target sits 43 percent above Friday's close. The private equity firm has fallen 32 percent this year as investors questioned whether alternative asset manager growth rates are sustainable.
Goldman pushed back on that skepticism directly. "Growth across private credit, wealth management, and even private equity remains much stronger than feared," the firm wrote. It described TPG's private equity, private credit and re-emerging real estate funds as growing well above the industry average, with top-quartile performance enabling market share gains against larger rivals.
Tyson Foods carries the second-largest implied return at nearly 33 percent upside from Friday's close. Goldman's $81 price target reflects the meat processor's quiet year so far—shares are up close to 3 percent in 2026. The firm cited Tyson's "diversified portfolio with leverage to the hottest area of food" and called for continued earnings growth driven by margin expansion, operational improvements and strong demand trends. As the U.S.'s largest protein processor and marketer, Tyson stands to benefit from elevated protein consumption supported by the continued popularity of high-protein diets and domestic demand resilience.
Block rounds out the high-conviction additions with a $95 price target offering 25 percent upside from Friday's close. The fintech, which operates Square and Cash App, has already gained 19 percent in 2026, outpacing the broader market. Goldman framed Block as "a cash generating share gainer with an AI productivity enhancement story." The firm described it as "one of the premier consumer neobank and payment platforms in the U.S." and said the company is on a path to higher profitability as it attracts more users through wallet share expansion and product improvements in select verticals.
Casella Waste Systems was the fourth addition, though Goldman provided insufficient detail to report a specific price target or thesis.
The three removals reflect Goldman's monthly rotation discipline rather than negative views on those businesses. The firm regularly rotates names based on relative conviction and valuation at each monthly review.
TPG's addition is the most contrarian call in the group. The 32 percent drawdown in one year puts TPG near the worst performers in the financials sector, making Goldman's decision to add it now—with 43 percent upside—a clear value call against consensus sentiment on alternative asset managers.
Block's inclusion makes a different statement. At 19 percent year-to-date gains, it is not a beaten-down recovery play. Goldman is arguing the AI efficiency narrative at Square and Cash App has not been fully priced in by the market, and that the $95 target reflects undervaluation of both the profitability trajectory and competitive position of the platform.
Tyson sits in a different category—a large-cap consumer staple with a defined catalyst in protein demand. All four additions carry Goldman buy ratings.
