Odell Beckham Jr. has made the New York Giants' 53-man roster, securing his return to the team that selected him with the 12th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Beckham, 33, signed a one-year contract with the Giants in June. His roster spot was uncertain through much of training camp, but two strong practices and a solid preseason finale before an injury to slot receiver Calvin Austin III helped solidify his position.
Beckham caught three passes for 53 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Jets. Coach John Harbaugh said afterward that Beckham "has done enough to make an NFL roster, for sure" and that he "played well and improved throughout camp."
During his initial five-year tenure with the Giants, Beckham established himself as one of the league's top receivers. In his rookie year, he caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He made three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams before the team traded him to Cleveland after the 2018 season.
Since then, Beckham won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, though he tore his ACL for a second time during that game. He missed the entire 2022 season with the injury, played for Baltimore in 2023 under Harbaugh, appeared in nine games for Miami in 2024, and remained unsigned last season while serving a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
The Giants signed Beckham to add depth to their receiver position as Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton recovered from injuries.
