U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $314.37 million in net inflows on Tuesday, extending their consecutive inflow streak to seven trading days and pushing August's total to $3.03 billion, according to SoSoValue data.
That seven-day run has cut the annual deficit dramatically. Year-to-date net outflows for U.S. spot Bitcoin products now stand at $2.26 billion — down from $4.84 billion earlier in 2026. The streak slashed that shortfall by more than half in under two weeks.
The first half of 2026 produced $5.4 billion in net outflows, the worst six-month stretch on record for the products. June alone accounted for $4.5 billion of that figure, with BlackRock's IBIT leading redemptions at $1.34 billion in a single week. August is running in the opposite direction.
With four trading sessions left in August, the funds need $390 million more to surpass October 2025's monthly inflow total. Based on the current daily average over the streak, clearing that threshold is within reach before the month closes.
Total net assets across U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $99.05 billion as of Tuesday's close, while cumulative net inflows since the products launched in January 2024 rose to $54.36 billion, per SoSoValue.
The inflow momentum extends across major digital assets. U.S. spot Ether ETFs also extended their own inflow streak to seven consecutive trading days on Tuesday, adding $179.8 million in a single session. Over that seven-day run, Ether ETFs collected roughly $1 billion in net inflows — a signal of broad institutional appetite across the category.
Bitcoin briefly crossed $80,000 on Tuesday before pulling back. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index sits at 65, firmly in greed territory, though it dropped from 74 a day earlier.
The streak's composition contrasts sharply with the inflow run that ended July 24, when seven consecutive days of inflows — totaling nearly $1 billion — snapped in a single session that saw $225.2 million in net outflows. That reversal came as Bitcoin slipped briefly below $65,000 during a broader equity selloff tied to U.S.-Iran geopolitical tensions, with the index reading at 28, deep in fear territory.
August's run is building on sturdier ground. The week of Aug. 7 alone saw Bitcoin ETFs draw approximately $102 million in a single session, with cumulative weekly inflows topping $750 million. The sequential buildup in daily inflow size distinguishes this stretch from prior recovery attempts.
The first half of 2026 was marked by brief inflow windows interrupted by sharp outflow sessions. April produced $2.44 billion in net inflows across spot Bitcoin ETFs — the strongest single-month figure in that stretch — only to be followed by $1.26 billion in outflows in May. The current August run, if it holds through the month's final four sessions, would represent the strongest monthly total since October 2025 and a clear break from that pattern.
The July 24 outflow session — arriving after an equally strong seven-day streak — shows how quickly the picture reverses when macro conditions shift. At that point, the Crypto Fear and Greed Index had already been tracking cautious sentiment for weeks before the outflow day confirmed it.
The scoreboard: $3.03 billion in August inflows, $54.36 billion in cumulative net inflows since launch, and a 2026 annual deficit cut from its worst level by more than half. One more strong week closes what would be the best month in nearly a year.
