Carnell Tate, the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, has officially joined the Tennessee Titans after a three-year career at Ohio State.

Tate played in 39 games from 2023 to 2025, starting 26. He finished with 121 receptions for 1,872 yards and 14 touchdowns, ranking 18th at Ohio State in both receptions and receiving yards.

In 2025, his junior season, Tate recorded 51 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing three games to injury. He averaged 17.2 yards per reception and had four 100-yard games, including a career-high 183 yards on nine catches against Minnesota. He also had five touchdown receptions exceeding 40 yards.

Tate earned second-team All-American honors from the American Football Coaches Association, The Sporting News, Associated Press and On3. He was named first-team all-Big Ten by both coaches and media. Academically, he achieved first-team Academic All-American status from the College Sports Communicators with a 3.50 grade point average while majoring in sport industry. He became the 33rd Ohio State football player to receive first-team Academic All-America recognition.

In 2024, Tate started 15 games during Ohio State's national championship campaign alongside first-round pick Emeka Egbuka and freshman Jeremiah Smith. He had 52 catches for 733 yards and four touchdowns, including four receptions for 52 yards and two touchdowns in the Northwestern game at Wrigley Field. He also received a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award.

As a true freshman in 2023, Tate played in all 13 games and started in the Cotton Bowl. He recorded 18 catches for 264 yards and one touchdown, with receptions in 11 of 13 games. His first touchdown came on a 28-yard reception from Devin Brown against Western Kentucky. He outpaced Chris Olave (12 receptions in 2018), Marvin Harrison Jr. (11 in 2021), Curtis Samuel (11 in 2014) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (10 in 2020) in freshman receiving totals.

Tate follows Smith-Njigba, the 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, as another Ohio State receiver moving to the pros. The Titans' commitment to acquiring high-impact offensive talent is affirmed by landing the top selection from the Buckeyes' 2026 draft class.
