Liverpool may open the door for Cody Gakpo to leave for Tottenham — but only if the club secures replacements before the transfer window closes.
Gakpo, 27, has emerged as a primary target for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi. Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is reluctant to let the Netherlands international depart without bringing in cover.
Tottenham would need to submit an offer of around £70 million to move Liverpool toward a sale, a figure reported Aug. 9. Even then, the transfer hinges on Liverpool's ability to sign replacements, not Tottenham's bid alone.
Liverpool is pursuing two wingers from Paris Saint-Germain: Bradley Barcola and Mbaye, 18. Deals for both are reportedly advancing on separate tracks. Securing both could clear the path for Gakpo's exit, with Tottenham closely monitoring the situation.
Liverpool does not currently plan to sell Gakpo despite Tottenham's interest, according to a source on the Transfer Insider podcast. Iraola does not want to weaken his squad.
With Mohamed Salah gone and limited depth out wide, the winger position is a top priority for Liverpool this summer. Whether Gakpo stays or goes depends on what arrives at Anfield first.
