Uniswap opened pools.trade, a new memecoin launchpad on Robinhood Chain, after 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 5. The platform's debut occurred four and a half hours after the public countdown set by Uniswap had expired.

The highest-valued token on the new launchpad is FRONG. This token was minted six days earlier, on July 30, using the same contracts that later deployed the launchpad. FRONG carries the name of the video Uniswap used to tease the platform's impending arrival.

FRONG traded at $0.0121 as of 6:56 p.m. ET on Aug. 5, showing a 31.9 percent increase on the day. The token held a fully diluted valuation of $12.1 million, supported by $1.1 million in liquidity.

Activity on pools.trade generated $20.6 million in 24-hour volume. Cumulative volume since the launch reached $60.96 million. This activity involved 172,694 buy transactions from 12,206 unique wallets and 152,183 sell transactions from 10,942 wallets.

The FRONG token recorded 12,141 holders shortly after the launch. Its contract, 0x6245.0c47, is a verified ERC-20 with a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens, according to Robinhood Chain's Blockscout explorer.

Uniswap's official announcement stated, "Pools is built by Uniswap Labs." The firm also included a disclaimer. It specified that Uniswap Labs "has not independently reviewed or verified any token or project displayed" and that "the appearance of a token does not constitute a recommendation, endorsement, or solicitation."

Uniswap clarified its intent for the platform on X, stating that Pools is "intended for memecoins: speculative, highly volatile assets that can go to zero." This communication aimed to manage expectations regarding the inherent risks of such assets.

The launch was preceded by a 24-hour countdown post on X by Uniswap at 12:31 p.m. ET on Aug. 4. The post linked to pools.trade and featured a night-vision clip of a frog, drawing 1.1 million views. Hayden Adams, founder and CEO of Uniswap Labs, publicly questioned the post 91 minutes later, asking "wait whats this about?"

Prior to the launchpad going live, the pools.trade holding page displayed the same frog clip, served from a file named frong.mp4. The page metadata read "Coming soon from Uniswap," despite FRONG having been minted five days before Unisw the video publicly.

The launch experienced delays beyond the initial countdown. Two minutes before the 24-hour timer expired, with the site still showing "DEPLOYING…," Adams posted that it would be "another ~hour." This post garnered over 135,000 views. At 4:29 p.m. ET, with the platform still unavailable, Adams posted a screenshot referencing server demand issues.

The site was live by 5:10 p.m. ET, labeled "Beta," though some pages returned empty loading states. The official launch thread on X followed at 6:49 p.m. ET. The FRONG token's creation transaction, a multicall from an unidentified wallet (0xE195.cE58) to a verified contract named LiquidityLauncher (0x00004c4c.D4e9), occurred at 20:16:59 UTC on July 30 in block 23,595,790. Its Uniswap v4 pool was created in the same block.

The token itself was minted by a second verified contract, UERC20Factory (0x000000e2.d49b). Neither the LiquidityLauncher nor the UERC20Factory contracts carried a public label identifying them with Uniswap Labs before the platform's public debut on Aug. 6.
