Ibrahima Konaté has officially joined Real Madrid. The club announced the four-year deal, which runs through June 30, 2030.

Konaté, born in Paris on May 25, 1999, came up through the youth ranks at Paris FC before moving to FC Sochaux from 2014 to 2017. He then joined Leipzig in 2017, remaining there until 2021.

He spent five seasons at Liverpool, arriving in 2021. During that stretch he won one Premier League title, one FA Cup, two League Cups and one Community Shield.

Real Madrid adds a decorated central defender entering his prime. The four-year commitment gives the club a long-term answer at a position it wanted to reinforce.
