The Angels defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3, with first baseman Nolan Schanuel delivering a go-ahead three-run double in the seventh inning and finishing with four RBIs.
Schanuel also hit his third home run of the season, a solo shot leading off the fourth inning.
Starter José Soriano threw five scoreless innings, keeping the Blue Jays offense in check.
The win extended a productive stretch for Schanuel, who has gone eight for 22 over his recent games — a.364 average — with seven RBIs and four runs scored in that span. Schanuel said a sore ankle prompted a swing adjustment that has contributed to the improved production.
