PLYMOUTH, Mass. — The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy continued Thursday in Plymouth Superior Court, entering its second week as prosecutors presented evidence. Clancy, a Duxbury mother, faces charges in the strangulation deaths of her three young children in 2023.
Clancy sobbed in the courtroom as jurors viewed autopsy photos of her youngest child. Her visible distress prompted the court to take an unscheduled break.
A Massachusetts medical examiner testified about the autopsy performed on the youngest of Clancy's children, offering forensic evidence central to the prosecution's case. Clancy cried throughout the medical examiner's account.
Prosecutors called several additional witnesses, including friends, a former work colleague and Clancy's former father-in-law. Their testimony focused on Clancy's mental and emotional state in the period before the strangulations.
Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, Clancy accepted certain key facts presented in the prosecution's case. The agreement is expected to streamline proceedings, though the specific facts she accepted were not publicly disclosed.
The state's presentation is scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Jurors will be dismissed early that day at 1 p.m. according to the judge managing the court calendar.
