SoftBank reports earnings today, offering another read on private-market AI confidence. The Japanese conglomerate has invested $34.6 billion into OpenAI through its Vision Fund 2 since September 2024 and also owns chip designer Arm. Those numbers will tell traders whether institutional conviction in private AI is holding.
In commodities, gold rose 0.4 percent to its strongest level since June as traders pulled back rate-hike expectations. Brent crude traded under $80 a barrel after Iran and Oman announced an agreement on a shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz.
