Como is set to acquire Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in a deal valued at €30 million plus €3 million in add-ons. Chalobah is scheduled to arrive in Italy for his medical examination Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026.

The 27-year-old will sign a five-year contract with Como, running through June 2031.

Negotiations extended over several weeks. Previous interest from Inter Milan complicated the process before Como finalized terms with Chelsea.

Como is also moving to sign Yan Couto from Borussia Dortmund. Couto is scheduled for a medical alongside Chalobah as the Italian club works to strengthen its defense.

Chelsea offloads a player for a considerable fee while gaining roster flexibility ahead of the new season. The funds could be reallocated to other areas of the squad.

Following the medicals, both Chalobah and Couto are expected to finalize their contracts, marking the most prominent signings for Como during this transfer window.
