On-chain data shows 1,999 Bitcoin, valued at $128.5 million, moving from an unknown wallet to a new address. This movement is part of a larger pattern of transfers observed across the network in the last 24 hours.

Another transfer involved 2,272 Bitcoin totaling $184.6 million moving between unknown wallets. A separate movement saw 1,149 Bitcoin, worth $106.2 million, shift from one unknown address to another. Large untracked transfers typically indicate internal re-organization by holders.

One notable transaction involved wallet 18TExP, which held 500 Bitcoin valued at $31.27 million. This wallet transferred its entire balance to a new address after more than 12 years of inactivity. The owner may have moved these funds due to security concerns following the recent Coldcard hack.

A whale wallet identified as bc1qpt, holding 16,400 Bitcoin, transferred its full $1.04 billion balance to a new wallet. This address had been inactive for seven months prior to the movement. Large transfers from long-dormant wallets draw attention to potential shifts in long-term holding strategies.

Not all transfers moved to unknown addresses. A distinct movement of 1,137 Bitcoin, valued at $72.9 million, went from an unknown wallet directly to Coinbase Institutional. That type of transfer often precedes a sale or reallocation of funds within institutional portfolios.

Collectively, these transfers represent over 22,000 Bitcoin moving across the network within hours, exceeding $1.5 billion at current prices. Bitcoin trades at $64,205, up 0.9 percent in 24 hours.

The activation of wallets after years of dormancy points to heightened security awareness among long-term holders or a strategic decision to consolidate assets. The Coldcard hack, which compromised some hardware wallets, has prompted users to move funds to new, secure addresses.

Transfers to Coinbase Institutional indicate active management of digital asset positions by larger entities—a contrast to the self-custody shifts seen from the long-inactive wallets. Transfers to unknown wallets do not confirm selling, but a direct move to an institutional exchange often implies preparation for liquidity events or rebalancing.
