Al Diriyah FC Nears Deal for Atalanta Captain Djimsiti

Al Diriyah FC has reached a verbal agreement to sign centre-back Berat Djimsiti from Italian Serie A club Atalanta for €3 million.

Djimsiti, born Feb. 19, 1993, captains both Atalanta and the Albania national team. His current contract with Atalanta expires June 30, 2027.

The Albanian international joined Atalanta on Jan. 18, 2016, establishing himself as a key defensive figure. He began his senior career with Zürich before moving to Italy. His agent is LITCHI AG.

At €3 million for a proven defender entering the final year of his contract, Al Diriyah FC is getting experience at a sharp price. Djimsiti brings Serie A and European competition résumé to a Saudi Pro League side that needs defensive stability—not a marquee name.

For Atalanta, the deal recovers value on a captain who would have walked into his final contract year next summer. The Saudi Pro League continues to target established international talent to raise the competitive level of its clubs.
