UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento died Monday, Aug. 3, at age 34. Nascimento suffered an apparent heart attack in his sleep and was found unresponsive. Responding medical professionals were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The UFC announced Nascimento's death on X, extending condolences to his family, friends, teammates and loved ones.
"This morning, Monday, Aug. 3, our beloved flyweight fighter, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep. Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene," the UFC said.
Nascimento turned professional in 2011. He won nine of his first 10 professional fights and built a 22-7 overall record.
His path to the UFC included an appearance on Dana White's Contender Series, where he lost a split decision to Raulian Paiva. Nascimento made his official UFC debut in 2021, dropping a split decision to Tagir Ulanbekov.
He then won four straight, defeating Jake Hadley, Carlos Hernandez, Jafel Filho and Cody Durden in succession. He earned Performance of the Night honors for his wins over Hernandez and Durden.
His winning streak ended June 20, when he lost a split decision to Mitch Raposo. Nascimento finished 4-2 inside the Octagon.
