MyPlots, a party promotion app that has captured over 1 million users in Los Angeles, is raising $10 million in angel investment to expand beyond California and establish permanent operations, founder and CEO Jack Schwartz said.
The capital will fund a permanent office and sales team to book talent for events nationwide. Schwartz, 21, is planning a 10,000-person festival as part of the expansion.
MyPlots launched its app in January 2025 and has become the primary platform for under-21events in Los Angeles, displacing competitor Partiful. Promoter Daniel Herring said that three years ago most Los Angeles events were promoted on Partiful, but nearly all have shifted to MyPlots over the past year.
The business model is straightforward: MyPlots takes a 20 percent cut of all ticket sales processed through the app. The platform handles event creation, guest invitations and host updates while restricting promoters from accessing user phone numbers for off-platform promotion.
Partiful announced its own in-app ticketing feature in June, narrowing the feature gap that initially distinguished MyPlots. But Schwartz's competitive advantage rests on exclusive luxury party curation and targeted marketing to a young, affluent demographic. MyPlots events in recent months have included mansion parties in Encino and concerts at downtown Los Angeles venues.
The app officially requires users to be 18, though Schwartz acknowledged circumvention occurs. MyPlots integrates with Stripe, which permits accounts for users as young as 13 with parental enrollment.
