Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong projects Bitcoin will reach $300,000 to $400,000 by 2030, citing accelerating momentum for digital asset legislation. Armstrong made the call Thursday on Fox Business Network's Varney & Co. with Bitcoin trading at $72,718—up 4.3 percent in 24 hours.

The forecast follows a White House meeting Wednesday where President Trump hosted crypto executives and traditional finance leaders to advance regulatory clarity. Trump specifically urged lawmakers to finalize the Clarity Act, calling it a "very, very powerful piece of legislation." Armstrong said he sensed "a big sense of urgency" from the administration to close the bill.

The Clarity Act establishes a framework for classifying digital assets as securities, commodities, or payment stablecoins—determining whether the SEC or CFTC holds jurisdiction. Legislators targeted an August vote, but the timeline slipped to September.

Banks initially opposed the bill, fearing crypto companies would drain deposits by offering high yields on stablecoins. Armstrong said several banks have now backed the Clarity Act, seeing it as a path to "new powers" for digital business expansion. A few holdouts remain, he acknowledged.

Regulatory clarity directly moves capital allocation. Armstrong's $300,000 to $400,000 target assumes institutional inflows accelerate once rules solidify around asset classification. The September vote could unlock that next phase for the U.S. digital asset market.
